Terms of Service

Doomate is a digital-wellbeing and social-accountability tool. You remain responsible for your device use, your communications, and decisions made with the service. Doomate is not an emergency, medical, mental-health, or safety service.

Effective September 20, 2026

1. Your agreement with Doomate

These Terms form an agreement between you and Hus Lucian-Antonio, an independent developer based in Romania ("Doomate," "we," "us," or "our"). They apply to the Doomate applications, website, backend services, and related features (the "Service").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. App-store terms also apply, and the store's terms control where they conflict regarding billing or distribution.

2. Eligibility and younger users

You must be at least 13 and legally permitted to use the Service where you live. If local law requires you to be older to enter this agreement or authorize optional data processing, you may use Doomate only with valid authorization from a parent or legal guardian. A parent or guardian who authorizes use accepts responsibility for the minor's use to the extent permitted by law.

We may limit availability by country or age until appropriate safeguards are in place. Do not misrepresent your age. If we reasonably believe an account is ineligible, we may restrict it while we investigate or request appropriate confirmation.

3. What Doomate does

Doomate lets you create app-usage rules, ask trusted people for limited additional time, exchange messages, receive a human or optional AI decision, and apply supported restrictions on your device. Available features depend on your device, operating system, permissions, country, plan, and third-party services.

Apple Family Controls, Managed Settings, Device Activity, and shield behavior are controlled partly by Apple and the device. Android capabilities can differ. Operating systems may delay, interrupt, or prevent monitoring, notifications, restrictions, or approved additional time. We do not promise that Doomate will always block or unblock an app at a particular moment.

Keep your own judgment.

Never rely on Doomate to reach emergency, health, safety, work, school, travel, financial, authentication, or other essential services. Use an available emergency exit or your device controls when access is necessary.

4. Accounts and security

Provide accurate information, keep your device and sign-in method secure, and notify us promptly of suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity through your account unless applicable law says otherwise. You may not sell, transfer, or share an account in a way that defeats security or age protections.

5. Accountability relationships

Choose partners you know and trust. A partner's vote, message, delay, refusal, or approval is that person's action, not professional advice or a decision by Doomate. Doomate does not supervise partners, verify their qualifications, or guarantee their availability or conduct.

Respect another user's boundaries. You may remove or block a relationship and report abusive conduct. Visibility settings affect future sharing, but recipients may retain information already delivered or captured outside Doomate.

6. Optional AI review

Eligible users may choose to send a limited request context to an external AI provider for review. AI output is probabilistic and may be incomplete, inconsistent, or wrong. It is not medical, psychological, legal, educational, employment, financial, safety, or other professional advice. It is not intended to make a legally significant decision about you.

Do not submit confidential information, special-category information, or personal information about another person unless necessary and lawful. You may use a human review path instead. We may change the model, provider, limits, or availability and may suspend AI review if its privacy, safety, or reliability requirements are not met.

7. Your content

You retain ownership of text, profile images, photos, voice messages, request reasons, and other content you provide ("User Content"). You give Doomate a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit, resize, transcode, and display User Content only as needed to operate, secure, moderate, and improve the Service, comply with your settings, and meet legal duties. This license ends when the content is deleted from active systems, except for copies retained lawfully in backups, safety records, disputes, or by recipients.

You must have the rights and permissions needed to submit User Content. Do not upload private images or voice recordings of another person without a lawful basis and their permission where required. Do not use Doomate as permanent or sole storage.

8. Acceptable use

You may not use the Service to:

  • harass, threaten, shame, exploit, groom, stalk, impersonate, or endanger another person;
  • send sexual content involving a minor, non-consensual intimate content, or content that facilitates abuse or self-harm;
  • upload unlawful, infringing, deceptive, malicious, or privacy-invasive content;
  • spam users or use invitations, messages, photos, or audio for unauthorized commercial solicitation;
  • access another account, evade a block or restriction, scrape the Service, probe security, distribute malware, or disrupt infrastructure;
  • reverse engineer the Service except where applicable law expressly permits it;
  • misrepresent an ad reward, purchase, identity, age, vote, decision, or device status; or
  • use the Service in violation of law or another person's rights.

9. Reports, moderation, and appeals

We may investigate reports and remove content, limit messaging, end relationships, suspend features, or terminate accounts when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect users, comply with law, or preserve the Service. We consider context, severity, repetition, and available evidence but cannot guarantee that we will detect every violation.

To report illegal or abusive content, challenge a restriction, or submit a rights complaint, email contact@doomate.app with the relevant account or content details and your reasons. Do not send sensitive evidence unless we request a secure method. We may preserve relevant records while a report or appeal is pending.

10. Subscriptions and purchases

Doomate expects to offer Plus for approximately €4.99 per month and Pro for approximately €9.99 per month. Actual price, currency, taxes, billing period, feature limits, and any trial are displayed by Apple App Store or Google Play before purchase and control your transaction. Pro may include limited AI access; subscription does not promise unlimited use of any feature.

Apple or Google charges and manages the subscription. Subscriptions ordinarily renew automatically unless canceled through the applicable store before renewal. Deleting Doomate does not cancel a subscription. Cancellation and refund eligibility are governed by the store's rules and mandatory consumer law. We may change features or future prices, but store notice and consent requirements apply.

11. Advertising

Doomate may introduce clearly labeled advertising or optional rewarded ads. We will update our Privacy Policy and obtain any required choice before enabling an advertising provider. We will not use information from a user known to be a minor for profiling-based advertising, and Screen Time activity, partner relationships, messages, and AI-review content may not be used to target ads.

12. Doomate property and license

Doomate and its software, design, mascot, branding, curated content, and documentation are owned by us or our licensors and protected by law. Subject to these Terms, we give you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. No other rights are granted.

Feedback may be used without restriction or payment, but we will not identify you as its source without permission.

13. Third-party services

The Service depends on operating systems, app stores, identity providers, cloud hosting, email, notifications, AI, and other third-party services. Their terms and privacy notices apply to their services. Doomate is not responsible for third-party services or for outages, policy changes, or content outside our reasonable control.

14. Changes and availability

We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features to improve the Service, respond to security or legal requirements, or manage provider and operational limits. We will give notice required by law when a change materially reduces a paid service or changes these Terms. If you do not accept revised Terms, stop using the Service and cancel any subscription through the store.

15. Suspension, termination, and deletion

You may stop using Doomate at any time and request account deletion. We may suspend or terminate access for a material or repeated breach, danger to users, fraud, legal requirement, or threat to the Service. Where appropriate and legally required, we will explain the reason and provide an opportunity to appeal. Provisions that by their nature should survive—such as ownership, accrued payment obligations, disclaimers, and dispute terms—remain effective after termination.

16. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, a particular behavioral or wellbeing outcome, the conduct or availability of partners, the accuracy of AI output, or successful enforcement by every device or operating-system version.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including mandatory consumer guarantees.

17. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, breach of mandatory data-protection duties, or another liability that law does not permit us to limit.

Otherwise, to the fullest extent permitted by law, Doomate is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, loss of profits or data, conduct of another user, or inability to access a third-party app. Our aggregate liability arising from the Service will not exceed the greater of €100 or the amount you paid for Doomate during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. This limitation does not reduce rights you have under mandatory consumer law.

18. Responsibility for misuse

If you use Doomate on behalf of a business, that business will defend and indemnify us against third-party claims caused by its unlawful User Content or material breach of these Terms. This section does not apply to individual consumers where prohibited by law and does not make you responsible for Doomate's own acts.

19. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Romanian law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts of Romania have jurisdiction, except that a consumer may bring a claim in the courts of their country of residence and keeps the protections of mandatory law that applies there. Nothing prevents either party from seeking urgent protective relief or using an applicable consumer-dispute process.

Before filing a claim, please email contact@doomate.app and describe the problem so we can try to resolve it informally. This request does not shorten a legal deadline or require you to waive a statutory right.

20. General terms

If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the rest will remain effective. A delay in enforcing a term is not a waiver. You may not transfer this agreement without our consent; we may transfer it as part of a legitimate business reorganization or sale, subject to applicable law. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and purchase terms presented at checkout form the agreement about the Service.
